7 new features in Windows Phone 7.5 Mango

Microsoft's recent update to their smartphone operating system boasts over 500 new features. Here are seven of the most interesting features of Windows Phone 7.5 Mango.

Unified messaging
The most exciting feature in Mango is unified messaging. As the name suggests, it brings all your conversations under one hub. This includes conversations over SMS, Live Messenger and Facebook, however it does not include third-party applications.


Improved social network integration
Windows Phone 7 already came with Facebook integration, however they have now added Twitter as well as LinkedIn integration for contacts. This is well stitched into the contacts hub, contacts can also be grouped to get specific updates.


Multitasking
No longer do Windows Phone 7 smartphone users have to crib about multitasking, as the much awaited feature has finally reached the smartphone OS. It can be accessed by holding the back key for a little while - all the running applications show up as cards.


Windows Phone 7.5 Marketplace
The actual marketplace never made its way to India, but you can finally rest. The new marketplace is available with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango devices, and you can go ahead and download all the apps you craved for.

MS Office and SkyDrive
Well, it took some time for Microsoft to bring back the Mobile Office and it is now available with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango smartphones. Additionally, it also includes SkyDrive integration which allows you to store your files on the cloud and access them from anywhere.


Threaded emails
Another wanted feature which has made its way to Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. All your emails and conversations are now under one roof.

Improved search
Bing Search on Windows Phone 7.5 is much smartter than before. It now acccepts voice commands, and also searches for products and places from the search menu.
